The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is pleased to present a new training video, designed to show employers how to use the Massachusetts Work-Based Learning Plan. The Plan is a diagnostic, goal-setting and assessment tool designed to drive learning and productivity on the job for students in work experiences. It has been in use in work sites since 2005, and has provided the structure for over 80,000 work experiences for students. The tool offers a comprehensive approach to job design and performance evaluation, and enables both employers and students to get the most out of the experience.
Programs that use the tool offer a range of training methods for supervisors. For busy employees, this nine minute training video offers an excellent review of the Plan, and will help them prepare for its use prior to the start up of a student internship under their supervision.
